Chili Chicken is an Indo-Chinese food that is much popular in the Indian subcontinent. This recipe is made with boneless chicken pieces which are marinated with egg, flour, spices and sauces. Then marinated chicken pieces are deep fried. Later, deep-fried chicken pieces are again seasoned with onion, capsicum, spices and sauces. Chili Chicken can be made as Dry or Gravy base Chili Chicken. Both recipes are very easy to make and delicious in taste. It can be served as a side dish along with main dish like fried rice, naan, kulcha etc. There are many alternatives vegetarian or non-vegetarian recipes of Chili Chicken like Chili Mushroom, Chili Paneer, Chili Potato, Chili Gobi, Chili Tofu and Chili Fish. Chili Chicken is an Indo-Chinese food which is made with boneless chicken pieces, flour, egg, onion, capsicum, spices and sauces.

Instructions

Preparation

  1. At first, cut boneless chicken breast into small pieces.

  2. Then chop green chilies, garlic and ginger. Dice onion and capsicum.

  3. Mix 3 tbsp corn flour in 1 cup water and keep aside for later use.

Marination

  1. In a large bowl, add corn flour, Maida, ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, black pepper powder, salt, egg and mix well.

  2. Now add vinegar, soya sauce, little water and mix well.

  3. Make a thick batter.

  4. Then add chicken pieces, vinegar, soy sauce and mix well with the batter.

  5. Keep aside for 2hrs.

Frying

  1. Now heat oil in a deep-frying pan and fry all the marinated chicken pieces until it turns golden on the both sides.

  2. Then remove all the fried chicken pieces in a plate and keep it aside.

Making Chili Chicken Gravy

  1. Now add chopped garlic, chopped ginger, diced onion, diced capsicum and chopped green chilies in the remaining oil. Fry on the low heat until veggies become tender.

  2. When veggies become tender, add red chili powder and pepper powder.

  3. Now add tomato ketchup, soya sauce, vinegar and mix well.

  4. Then add fried chicken pieces and fry for 1 min.

  5. Now add cornflour water mixture and mix well.

  6. Cook for 2 mins on the low flame.

  7. Now Chili Chicken Gravy is ready and serve hot with any main dish of your choice. Enjoy!
